Tapspace Forward March! Vol. 2 by Jim Casella & Murray Gusseck
Jim Casella and Murray Gusseck have collaborated to bring you Forward March!, a collection of cadences that your kids can learn quickly and play easily so rehearsal time can be spent on the show, and not street beats or stand tunes.
Because Jim and Murray wrote these grooves, you know they're going to sound good even if they're not crazy hard. Each cadence has a default length between 8 and 24 bars, with options for tempo and length. Learn one tune, and you've got a feature, a looping parade cadence, and a pep groove for games.
These cadences are completely moldable to your numbers; the versions printed inside the book are written for snares, quints, 4 basses, optional cymbals, and optional auxiliary percussion, but an included CD contains alternate parts for quads and bass lines from 2-5 players.
Each cadence is easy to medium in difficulty, requiring basic rudimental skills.
Volume 2 includes the following cadences:
- McSalsa (8 bars)
- Git Up Offa Dat (12 bars)
- Rockadiddle (12 bars)
- Sausage Biscuit (16 bars)
- Chum Bum Skank (20 bars)
- Lil' Petunia (24 bars)
