Side by Side by Michio Kitazume is an intense multi-percussion solo that offers the performer a great deal of freedom. Complex patterns are isolated by repeated strokes on a single drum.

If you closed your eyes while listening to this piece, there are many moments that would sound like two players performing independently in some sort of crazy groove.

Setup is fairly easy for a multi solo, making this a piece a great candidate for any advanced college student with limited space or time to haul instruments around.
