Tapspace From the Manor to the Heights by Jason Baker
From the Manor to the Heights by Jason Baker is a snare drum and bass drum solo named for two neighborhoods in Connecticut. A mixture of old-school sounds and contemporary multi-percussion notes, this quick solo is visually and sonically intriguing!
The bass drum is played in the multi-percussion way - horizontally with sticks. At a brisk two minutes flat, this solo would fit in nicely inside of any early undergraduate or high school percussion recital, with a more interesting sound than your typical 'snare solo'.
Difficulty: Medium +
Duration : 2' 05"
Instrumentation: Snare Drum, Bass Drum
From the composer: This piece was composed for snare drum and bass drum, to be performed by one player. The title is a reference to the neighborhood in which I grew up - the Oakdale Heights - and its neighboring subdivision, the Montville Manor.
