Partials by Alan Keown combines the forces of four multi-percussionists to create a drummy piece of music that punches forward with extensive use of horizontal bass drums. All four players have an identical setup.
Keown uses the 'one player across multiple instruments' technique of writing throughout the piece, using all of the players to create a single rhythmic line, split into sections. This piece will be particularly effective in any marching bass drummers' hands.
