This Remo Nuskyn Bongo Head will fit on the smaller drum of most manufacturer's mid-range and professional-level bongos. R-Series collars are much like the collars found on snare, bass, and tom heads, with an aluminum 'flesh hoop'.
Nuskyn is very similar to animal skin in a lot of ways - full-bodied with more pronounced low-to-midrange frequencies, and an absence of high overtones. Plus it looks remarkably similar to real skin!
