Adams Timpani Muffler

Place this Adams Timpani Muffler on one of your drums to instantly decrease the amount of ring and resonance. It's made of weighted felt, and won't bounce around under normal levels of playing.

These are often used when playing very old music from the Baroque and Classical periods, helping modern drums sound more like their 18th century versions. They are also used in contemporary literature to create an intentionally deadened effect.

If you're not using a particular drum, or simply not playing at all during a piece, you can place these muffles on your timpani to prevent any unintentional sympathetic resonance. The nylon loop lets this muffler hang off one of the tension rods for easy access.
